I'm going up to Newport, so this will be my last post until Tuesday, August 5th or Wednesday, the 6th.
It’s not the best lineup I’ve ever seen, but it’s always a fun time.In the meantime, here's some music from a gentleman, I've seen several times over the years at Newport.

DeleteSafe travels and lots of good music!
ReplyDeleteHave a great time!
ReplyDeleteHave a good trip, Babs. Looking forward to hearing your comments when you return.
ReplyDeleteNice. Be safe and have a great time. Much deserved vaca for you.
ReplyDeleteThe McBride Big Band is phenomenal. Just saw Salvant and she was miscast at a manouche fest (she did a note perfect rendition of a bad Donna Summer disco song as an encore which was a headscratcher). Saw Kenny Garrett a few months ago and he was phenomenal. Enjoy (I know you will)!
ReplyDeleteCécile and Kenny are like a box of chocolates…
DeleteHave fun
ReplyDeleteHave a good time at Newport, Babs. Your personal program is really top. And thanks for Dexter.
ReplyDeleteMusic festivals are a lot of fun, especially if you've been before and like the set-up, vibes, and program. All the best to you, and thanks for all the fun you've given us!

Hope you have a great time Babs and as ever thank you for all the posts. They are always most welcome.
ReplyDeleteIf I was stuck on a desert album and only had access to one set of albums, I think I would choose Dexter Gordon's Blue Note recordings.

That lineup looks pretty repectable to me, especially your own roster. Have fun, Babs.
ReplyDeleteIt looks respectable as well.
