Formed in 1966 Cream was the first rock supergroup, with Eric Clapton on guitar, Jack Bruce on bass and Ginger Baker on drums, but you already knew that, so I'll cut to the chase.
Today's freeload is 6 CDs of the four studio Cream recorded: 'Fresh Cream', 'Disraeli Gears', 'Wheels Of Fire' and 'Goodbye'.
But these are not your garden variety, run-of-the-mill versions. They are Japanese limited edition remasters on Platinum SHM-CDs, from 2014.

Cheese
ReplyDeleteSaw Cream twice in Worthing 1967. Rolling and Tumbling, and Steppin'Out were the Tour de Force in the early days, before Crossroads in 1968. Saw Hendrix there too, when Purple Haze was his latest hit.
ReplyDeleteIce cream, followed by cheese...and of course CREAM!
ReplyDeleteChocolate milkshake
ReplyDeleteMost mornings I have a store bought yogurt. Cheese is good because there are so many varieties to explore.
ReplyDeleteBut back in my biker/cowboy days, the neighbor kids brought down a bucket of milk straight from a cow. We filtered it through some (non dairy) cheese cloth. let it set and all the cream floated to the top. I think we mixed the cream with chocolate and it tasted like a rich shake. I probably had to trade some pot for it as that was currency back then.
I used to have photos of one of the kids riding on the back of my dirt bike trying to rope a wild burro.
has to be good quality aged cheese, i don't actually eat any other dairy products these days. signed as monte walters, not anonymous!
ReplyDeleteCheese- especially payoyo.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite dairy product is cheese, specifically: mozzarella. We get really good pizza here in Manhattan. Technically speaking, I’m a lacto-ovo vegetarian, which basically means, I do not eat meat or fish but, I do eat dairy products and eggs. That said, my dairy intake is limited to mozzarella on pizza, and milk, cream and eggs in ice cream, both of which I don’t eat regularly.
ReplyDeleteI'm a lacto-ovo-pescatarian, and I had a delicious NYC pizza when I was there last weekend for a wedding. Also got some licorice pizza at Human Head Records in Brooklyn!
ReplyDeleteI trade 78's with Travis at Human Head Records.
DeleteIDK if it was Travis, but the guy behind the counter during my visit was very friendly. Great record store!

My favourite dairy product? Anything that comes from a cow....
ReplyDeleteBlue Bell vanilla ice cream, allegedly from Texas.
ReplyDeleteI live not too far from the Blue Bell factory. I used to love them, but its all over now...after mold showed up a couple of years ago. Supposedly fixed, but they're now way overpriced.
DeleteFave dairy product - Gelato. Especially from this little place we discovered in Bologna. Off the dairy now.
ReplyDeleteIce cream, ricotta, mozzarella, feta, blue cheese, provolone, havarti, baby swiss, hot pepper jack, cheddar. Likely I've forgotten some. Thanks Babs
ReplyDeleteMy favorite dairy product is still milk (no joke). I grew up in the countryside and as a child we got our milk directly from the farmer or sometimes even directly from the freshly milked cow. 😋 And now for something completely different: I wanted to download the "Old And New Dreams" yesterday, but realized that the link had already expired. Can you renew it again?
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Germany
Paul
Paul, there's a new link for you in the original post. Enjoy!
DeleteFor health reasons, I eat very little cheese and almost no ice cream. So, those are my fave dairy products, but I'm still enjoying non-fat plain yogurt (from the store) each morning.
ReplyDeleteFunny (to me) story about Cream: I've occasionally been prescribed opiods for after-surgery pain, and have had almost no contact with them outside that context. Strong memories, though, of one of the first times I took an effective dose, and before melting into the futon thought, "it's time to put on a Cream CD!"
There are other times I like them, but that heavy sound is just exactly right for heavy downs - YMMV.
D in California
I had a similar post surgery experience with 'Exile On Main Street'
DeleteCheese........Thanks Babs
ReplyDeleteblue cheese - for me it's near the top of the food pyramid
